The Curran Story
Elevated Style From the Ground Up
In 1990, Jeff Curran founded Curran in Seattle as a way to bring quality home goods from around the world to his family and friends. He began by sharing a flier that showcased his latest finds with his clients. Circulation of Jeff’s flier grew by word-of-mouth and prompted the creation of “Curran” in 1995, a curated catalog that became a go-to for the design community.
The catalog's growing popularity, coupled with the region's rapid tech boom, motivated Jeff to launch a website to showcase natural floor coverings and fine European design online. Jeff's wife, Barbara, joined the company in 2004 and brought her business education and experience working for a Fortune 500 company to help grow the business. A Swiss citizen, Barbara strengthened the organization's European orientation and helped lay the groundwork for global expansion. More locally, Curran strengthened their relationship with the Northwest design community with the addition of a flooring design studio in 2011 and a furniture showroom expansion in 2022.
Today, Curran and sisalcarpet.com specialize in high-end outdoor furniture as well as custom rugs and broadloom carpets, with a focus on natural flat weave products, handwoven wool, and stylish synthetics. Curran boasts several exclusive partnerships with award-winning European furniture and carpet manufacturers and offers SynSisal®, a proprietary contract-grade sisal-look carpet that is sustainable, durable, and fashionable.

SynSisal® weaves are every bit as beautiful as natural sisal but far more forgiving. With contract-grade durability and soft ECONYL® regenerated nylon yarns, SynSisal® goes where natural sisal can’t.
