Extra Wide Rugs & Carpet

Most broadloom, or wall-to-wall carpet, is manufactured in a standard 13’2” width. Extra wide carpet refers to weaves available in wider widths, typically ranging between 15’ and 16’5”. The additional width helps minimize the need for seams, making these weaves ideal for wall-to-wall installations and oversized custom rugs in larger rooms.

Extra-wide carpet can eliminate or reduce the need for seams in wall-to-wall installations if your room is wider than the standard 13’2”. Seaming carpet requires skill and precision, and if done poorly can result in split, frayed, or overly visible seams. For example, a 16’4” wide sisal will cover a 15’ wide room with no seams and little wasted material, saving you money on installation and material costs.
